Demo Reel
This is my somewhat famous dynamic rigging reel demonstrating the techniques I developed during my year in film school. It was really a time that went by rather fast, but I learned a lot about Maya, Drawing, Film.. even audio engineering. Now I feel like I can’t stop working at the same accelerated rate. I’m hopeful that with my first few successful projects I’ll be in demand or producing beautiful and unexpected things. Thank you for watching. If you feel that I might assist in a project, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
You may need Quicktime to view this video..
I’m working on some rigs for a group project and am having serious trouble getting dynamics to affect my rigs. Basically the first character has a zipper on his pajamas that I’m trying to rig to basically animate itself according to gravity without penetrating the character. The next character is literally a ragdoll that needs to have a ragdoll rig yet is also poseable. Any ideas? I’ve been trying hinge constraints without much luck. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Thank you very much for your message about the dynamic rig.
This is something I developed while at film school studying computer animation. It was my final project and it uses Maya’s Hair system to make poseable yet dynamic characters.
This is not, however, a ragdoll system. It only allows for secondary animation to be added to a rig that has been primarily animated. It’s a totally different beast altogether.
This system lets you animate a character, say a walk cycle, and once the primary animation is in place, the dynamics take care of the secondary animation automatically.
I think I have a rig lying around somewhere, is it something you’d be interested in? Do you use Maya?
